Francis, Frank, Balzano, Feathers and Smith Headline Dirt Nationâ„¢ Monday December 3rd

Hampton, VA — The Dirt Nationâ„¢ presented by Lucas Oil radio show on Monday evening December 3rd will present a late model fans dream line-up. Dirt Nationâ„¢ will spotlight five if dirt late models top east coast stars as Chub Frank, Bo Feathers, Steve Francis, Mike Balzano and Jeff Smith join guest host Brian Tidball to discuss dirt late model racing and the upcoming 2008 season.

Chub Frank of Bear Lake, PA finished a close second in the World of Outlaws Late Model title chase along with scoring the most WoO Series wins (6). ‘Chubzilla’ drives the Chub Frank Racing owned, Custom Race Engines powered Chevrolet Impala SS Rocket #1* sponsored by Lester Buildings, Corry Rubber, All Star Performance, Corry Laser, Slavic Corporation, Farr MotorSports and Lake Shore Paving.

Mike Balzano of Parkersburg, WV finished third in the 2007 MACS Series Championship race and is the series 2005 Champion. The ‘Floodwall Flyer’ spent the majority of the 2007 season running a mixture of MACS, IRS, Lucas Oil and World of Outlaws competition. Balzano drives the Balzano Motorsports owned; Cornett Racing Engines powered, Chevrolet Monte Carlo Rocket #E1 sponsored by Polino Contractors, Eddie’s Auto Parts and Hoosier Racing Tires.

Bo Feathers of Winchester, VA was the Area Auto Racing News East Coast’s top winner. Feathers scored 14 wins out of 45 events run during the 2007 season on way to a second place finish in points at Hagerstown Speedway. Feathers drives BFR Racing owned; Rhodes Performance powered Warrior #00 sponsored by Bo Feathers Roofing and Long Excavating as well as the Preston Dietz owned; Dietz powered #D1 Warrior.

Steve Francis of Ashland, KY finally picked up the coveted 2007 World of Outlaws Late Model title. Francis will be making a change in car owners this upcoming season as he takes over the seat of the Dale Beitler owned Rockets. During the 2007 season the “Kentucky Colonel” drove the Steve Francis owned, Custom Race Engines powered Pontiac GTO Rocket #15 sponsored by Valvoline, Hoosier Tires, Custom Race Engines, Dart Manufacturing, Port City and Banshee Graphics.

Jeff Smith of Dallas, NC is one of the South’s top dirt late model drivers and the son of dirt late model legend Freddy Smith. Smith finished the 2007 season as the Fayetteville Motor Speedway Champion and also finished second in the Carolina Clash Championship chase. Smith drives the JS Racing owned; Gaerte Engines powered Rocket #70 sponsored by Norton Stereo, Starrette Trucking, Banks Brokerage, Creative Bridge Designs, J&J Race Cars, Gaerte Engines, Mayhem MotorgrafiXX, American Race Tires, Afco Racing Shocks and Red Line Oil.
